DON’T GIVE UP, TRUST THE PROCESS

I woke up today feeling reluctant to wake up. I just want to snooze my alarm the 5th time and go back to sleep.

I’m 18 going to 19. And I know many will say “but you’re a graduate already, at least you don’t have to worry about studying and working hard to get good grades. You’re lucky”. But should I? Should I really feel lucky?!

I mean, I am ever so grateful to God for the grace to be able to start and finish in flying colors, but I still feel like I haven’t arrived yet. College/university was just a phase and now that I’m done with it, I’ve concluded that phase and I’m now on a new one. It never ends and that’s becoming overwhelming.

I feel like there’s a whole lot of things I’m supposed to have achieved which I haven’t yet. “When will things get better?”, I ask myself. I feel like I haven’t gotten to where I’m supposed to be yet. I feel like I’m not doing enough in this particular phase and then when it’s over, I’ll have nothing to show for it.

#deepsigh

“I woke up today feeling reluctant to wake up. I just want to snooze my alarm…”. This in particular was written in my journal about last two weeks.

Today, with the help of motivational books and articles, I’ve learnt that It’s normal. And no, you are not depressed. Some days are just like that. We’ve all been there.

Love who you are

Someone said: “it’s going to get harder before it gets easier, but it will get better” and I’m saying that to you today.

The waiting, the uncertainty, the delays, the trial & error, it seems unfair, it’s not making sense, I know you don’t understand it and you’re having your doubts.
But this is THE PROCESS.

“Just because the process hurts doesn’t mean the results won’t be beautiful”.
– Unknown

We’ve dreamt dreams. We have imagined the perfect life, our future and how it’d be like to finally get there. But we’ve spent all our energy on just focusing on the ”end goal”. We want to get to enjoy all those things but we forget that, God will not just take the mansion, money, the ring, the fleet of cars, the degrees, the successful career, wrap it up as a present and then throw it down from heaven to us.

No! You have to actually spend time with your potential partner, go out on dates, learn to understand and deal with the personality of your significant other and then when it’s time, you’ll get ‘the ring’.

You have to sit through long hours in class listening to lectures, work your ass off in school to prove to the thermometer that it’s not the only thing with degrees! (pun intended).

You have to brainstorm, make plans for your business, read books, do research in your field, look for ways to grow your business so as to attract customers. Don’t worry if plan A fails, try B, C after all there are 26 letters in the English alphabet.

Apart from TALKING THE TALK, YOU ALSO HAVE TO WALK THE WALK! And these are all part the things you need to do!

“Instead of rushing to the end to see the fruits of my labor – I’ve realized the true purpose IS the labor”.

– Unknown

These are the FRUITS and the process is the LABOR.

We should learn to understand that “it is more about the JOURNEY than the DESTINATION“.

“It’s not the end goal that makes you; it’s the experience getting there that actually shapes you”.

– Unknown

The LABOR is the JOURNEY, the JOURNEY is the EXPERIENCE and the EXPERIENCE is the PROCESS.

You’re making progress. I’d tell you this even though you fail to see it.

Learn to give yourself credit at least for how far you’ve gotten. Great things take time. You’ve probably heard/seen this before but it is only going to take a while.

Timing is everything.

You’re not where you’re supposed to be yet but thank God you’re not where you used to be.

Success is no cheap talk. Success is a PROCESS.

TRUST THE PROCESS! Accept the process. Fall in love with the process. Embrace the process. Enjoy the process. Live in the process. And without a doubt, BELIEVE IN IT. It is all about you.

TRUST GOD IN YOUR PROCESS.

I once read somewhere that:

“Gold has to pass through the fire to eliminate the impurities in it so that the value of the gold can emerge”.

You represent that gold.

“God is not working towards a particular finish-line; His purpose is the process itself.”

– (Utmost Devotional).

And more importantly, he has not brought you this far to leave you! He is up to something. Trust his timing.

“Don’t worry, don’t hurry, trust the process”
(picture quote)

Hold on to that vision. Wait for it and DON’T EVER GIVE UP!

You want to know who’s unstoppable? A woman with a dream!

Thank you for reading. I hope with these you’ll begin to see the beauty in the process.
